Water Framework Directive (Directive 2000/60/CE)

This operative unit is utterly prepared to reply to solicitations regarding national legislation, as well as European community legislation, in the Water Management query.

We were involved in several projects on the topic of Water Framework Directive implementation, such as PGRH (River Basin Management plans).

This operative unit is integrated by teams with high experience in putting into operation state of the art technologies in Ecological System Characterization, implemented by INAG, IP (Portuguese Water Institute), for different water masses in national territory, as well as specialized technicians, recognized by the scientific board.

We point out:

• Sampling of Biological elements (benthic macroinvertebrates, Phytobenthos, Phytoplankton, marine fauna and macrophytes)
• River Habitat Survey
• Sampling of Specific pollutants, dangerous substances, and several physical and chemical parameters, to support the biological data, making it possible to determinate the water quality status
